Racine – Joan D. Ball, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
Joan was born in Akron, OH on March 31, 1943, to Richard and Gladys (nee, Wise) Byrd. She married Stuart Ball in Ohio on September 10, 1966. Joan volunteered at St. Monica's Senior Citizens Home. She had a love for sewing and quilting.
Joan is survived by her husband, Stuart Ball; sons, Edward Ball, Russell (Amy) Ball and Ronald Ball; grandsons, Jerime Ball and Tyler Ball; her brother, Ronald (Linda) Byrd; sister, Sharon (Bill) Roberts; brother-in-law, Raymond Ball; and nieces, Kelly (Cris) D'Annunzio and Trisha (Phil) Gernovich; and nephews, John (Laura) Matteson and Jeff (Chris) Matteson. Joan is also survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Joan will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jason Montano officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Monica's Senior Citizens Center.
